He also added that this would not be a problem throughout the season. George Cope, in the second game of a comeback from a knee injury, played a tre- mendous game. He led the team in scoring with twenty- six points. Gord Simmonds (19), Scott Wilbur (18), Robert Morris (15), and Mike Patton (10) all finished in double figures for scoring causing the coach to remark "lI was pleased with the scoring balance." Midget defeat Raiders by Danny Millar The Midget basketball team of Port Perry High School won it's return match against the Anderson Raiders with a convincing 68 to 20 victory in Whitby. Last week the Redmen also de- feated the Raiders in Port Perry. Coach John Addison, taking over for hospitalized coach John Rodway, won his second game in two starts. He credited the Redmen defensive play with the key to victory. "The stress was on the defence," he said. It was the stingy Port defensive play that blanked Anderson in the first quarter as the visitors went ahead 12 to 0. In fact, the biggest quarter for the Raiders was the fourth when they netted only ten points. Addison also had some words of advice for his athletes. "I hope these young men don't let that win go to their head. They have good competition throughout the season," he warned. The Interim coach also complemented the help of injured Brett Qosterman who sat out the game but assisted in coaching duties. The Midgets now have won three consecutive pre-season games after dropping their initial contest to Uxbridge.
