v Continued off a tough 3-3 tie Saturday night in Beaverton in which Randy Crawford had two goals and Brad Nicholson a singleton. It was a costly game for the team as for - ward Bill Bridge injured his back and veteran defense- man Rob Evans will be out for an indefinite period with a shattered cheek bone. Evans underwent surgery to repair the bone on Sunday, and it may be several weeks before he is back on skates. COBOURG BRAWL A wild brawl in Cobourg on December 11 resulted in suspensions to three Port Perry players, Darrin Jobb, Bill Haynes and captain Steve Jones. Although MoJacks came out the eventual winners by a 12 to 7 count, the contest was marred by several fights, and two Port Perry players were allegedly attacked by a group of Cobourg fans out- side the dressing room. That game featured 135 minutes in penalties with 74 going to the MoJacks and 61 tc Cobourg. In the scoring department Brad Nicholson led the MoJacks with three goals and four assists while Gorde Hintze, Darrin Jobb and Randy Crawford each had two goals. Singles went to Tim Page, Rob Greiner and Rob Evans. Mark Jobb had seven assists in the match. It has been a disappointing season for Junior C fans in Wintario Tickets available at the Port Perry Star 985-7383 ® 'MoJacks Port Perry so far with the MoJacks playing slightly better than .500 hockey. Although the team is only a couple of points out of third place, the injuries and suspensions are hurting the club. - While the MoJacks appear to have the nucleus of a decent team, the penalty box has been a big reason for the mediocre performance to date this season. Unless the players can stay away from the suspensions and the foolish penalties, their fortunes are not likely to get much better. The next home game for the MoJacks is December 30 when the league leading Bowmanville Eagles will be in town. ALL-STARS The annual Junior C all- star game will be played in Bowmanville on December 26 and the MoJacks have four players selected for that game against the Eagles, last years league champions. Forwards Mark Jobb and Brad Nicholson have been chosen along with defense- "man Bill Owen and goalie Charlie Durward. It should be a good game and fans may recall that in the all-star match last year Durward was nothing short of spectacular. In the meantime, MoJacks have a tough schedule over the next three weeks in their efforts to climb up in the standings with two games against the Eagles, a match December 23 in Little Britain, and a return game January 6 against the same team in Port Perry. On January 7, Beaverton will be in town, followed by the strong Port Hope club a' week later.
