Cornish y CHRISTMAS EVE One beautiful Christmas morning Mr. Spurs woke up very excited because he wanted to open all his gifts. He awoke the children and his wife. He didn't need to wake up his cat, Muffins, because she woke up long before Mr. Spurs had. Then they had breakfast. Mr. Spurs was so excited he didn't even touch his break- fast. Beside Mr. Spurs lived a mean old man named Mr. Cubs. He didn't believe in the Lord Jesus. Therefore he didn't have any Christmas at all. Mr. Spurs called him and said, '"'How would you like to have Christmas with us?" Mr. Cubs said 'Christmas Eve, what nonsense! But I don't want to upset your family. Well okay. I'll meet you at nine o'clock." When Mr. Cubs arrived he didn't look too happy. He just came right in and he also slammed the door. A little while later Mr. Spurs whispered to himself "I'hate it when nobody talks, especially on Christmas Eve." Quickly he jumped up and ran into the bedroom. Then he came out with the Bible. And he said "Mr. Cubs, nobody would print a book over one thousand pages just for something that wasn't true." Mr. Cubs looked surprised. They had a but everything was straightened out. And they had a merry Christmas. Filitsa Tzavaras Grade 4 Greenbank P.S. WHAT CHRISTMAS MEANS TO ME Christmas means alot to me. It should because every December 25 we celebrate Christs birthday we give presents to others for instan- ce: friends moms and dads unkles aunts and all other relitives. Most people get sick on Christmas because of cake, candy, hot dogs, ice- cream, and alot of other good stuff. We sing nice Christmas carols, you know when santa claus comes to your house with all the toys and candy canes! He fills your stockins up. You play with most of your stuff before you open the rest. I remember one year when my brother only opened a few of his presents and went and played with the light- bulbs on the Christmas tree! Are family laughed until their faces were reder than the Christmas apples. We would get up at about five o clock in the morning turn on the clock radio full blast they would get up in a hurry. We would go open our presents, Later that morning we would go to our grandpa and grandmas house, ang get a hole lot more stuff. We would have a real good time then we would get home and stay up all night playing with are new toys. Roddy Sweeney Grade 5 Mr. Roane R.H.
