" Stories about Christmas A CHRISTMAS ADVENTURE When Santa Claus was young he was fat. He dreamed he would be popular when he grew up. When he was ten, he weighed #120 Ibs. When he was 15 he weighed 210 lbs. As soon he was 21 he weighed 280 lbs and became Santa Claus. He was strong because he lifted weights every day. When Christmas came he could lift 200 lbs. over his - head. His bag with all of the toys in it weighed 170 Ibs. When he came to the houses there was a big thump and every year he did the same thing. Santa Claus is now 59 and will soon retire and nobody will do as good as he did. Mystical, Magical ~ Christmas Christmas, that mystical, magical time of the year, when people are cordial to each other, and spread some goodwill and love all around. For love was born at Christmas, in the birth of the tiny Christ child. But the purpose and meaning of Christmas, is overshadowed, in the hustle and bustle of buying gifts, expensive and lavish, . to make everyone happy and joyous. We need to reflect and remember, as we celebrate Christmas this year, it's the love we show to others, ' that keeps Christmas alive in our hearts. Marlene Parsons Grade 11 Cartwright High School Port Perry Star Christmas Edition - Wednesday, Dec. 20, 1978 - 19 CHRIST IS BORN Long ago when God want- ed a son. He asked Mary would like to be the mother and take care of him. God told her that he would be the father. God told her to get Joseph to travel with you to Bethleham and stay at an Inn. Joseph and Mary went to Bethleham. Mary went on a donkey and Joseph walked beside the donkey holding the reins. They got to Bethle- ham in about four day. When they got there they went to an Inn to stay there and have the baby. They asked the Inn keeper for a place to stay, the keeper had know place for them to stay except the stable. They said they would stay there and have the baby. There were three wise men in a field watching their flocks. Their was a bright star and a angel came down and told them that Christ was born. The wise men got some gifts and started to Bethleham to see Christ. When they got there they set their gifts down beside Christ. From then on we have had Christmas on December 25 when Christ was born. The end. Steven Langille Grade 5 Epsom School SURPRIZE I woke up at one o'clock in the morning. I had heard a noise. I suddenly felt very hungry so I went downstairs for a ham sandwich and a glass of milk. As I walked down the stairs I heard someone shuffling about. Downstairs the presents were under the tree. There 'was a big red velvet bag in the middle of the room and black footprints made by - soot on the rug. Then out pops this guy in a red suit and white beard. By now my eyes were nearly popping out of my head. He asked what I was doing up. I said that I was hungry. Then he plugg- ed his nose and said some- thing I didn't understand. All of a sudden I began to feel dizzy and I saw stars. When I woke up in the morning 1 didn't know if it had been real or not. Kelley Raines Grade 6, R.H.
