The music students of Port 'Perry High School were very successful in the recent Sunderland Music festival. Outstanding solo performers were Cathy Hall, bass clarinet, awarded first place with 86 marks; Laural Holtby, flute, first with 87; Janet Bruce, French Hord, first with 87; Lisa" Notting- ham, trumpet; first with 84; Mary McKelvey, clarinet, second with 88; Darlene Gibson, 'vocal, second with 86; and Jennifer Simmards who won first place in clarinet solo with 90 and first place in vocal solo with 87. Jennifer was also awarded the Debbie Harrison Trophy SR : A EASTE Port Perry High Seep choir.
