Mr. G. Swailes, an em- ployee of Ontario Hydro's Toronto Zone Construction, was rushed to the Port Perry Hospital in a hydro truck "after he came in contact with live wires on the opposite side of the pole on which he was working. Ontario Hydro was adding additional wires tu increase their capacity, said a hydro spokesman. Mr. Swailes, an experien- ced lineman, was kept in the hospital overnight for obser- vation. He has since been released and is recuperating at home. The Ontario Hydro Commission has not yet fully investigated the accident, but will be in the area within the next wegk or so to look into the possible causes, in order to prevent any further incidents of this nature. In 1952 the public school section of the building was taken over by the high school and a new public school was opened. Now well over 300 students attend the high school. Larry Davidson told reporters that about 450 pigs, 14 calves and one cow were lost in the blaze, as well as some machinery. Estimated loss was about .000. The goal of the Historical Society is the early establishment of a museum of local history. Mr. and Mrs. James Doupe, Prince Albert; were pleasantly surprised when their family held a dinner party for them last Saturday evening in the Oddfellows Hall, the occasion'being their 40th Wedding Anniver- sary. '° Equipment and furnishings are arriving daily at the new Communit Memorial Hospital and the date for occupancy has been set for later this month. The number of beds available to the patients in the new - hospital will be 43 compared to 27 in the present hospital.
