C & B was led by the play of Rob Evans who scored a goal and added two assists. His first point came when Don Phinney deflected his shot past Don Card in the Utica net. In contrastto last week's steller performance Card looked shakey between the pipes for Utica. The goal came at the seven minute point of the first period. Port Peyry took a two goal lead with 5:52 remaining in the period when "Ken Fraser's drive eluded Card. Evans collected another assist. C & B was in command and 'controlled most of the play of -Keith Fraser. the opening fifteen minutes. Utica came out smoking in the final frame and counted two goals in succession. At 3:05 Jack Mitchell scored and then 1:08 later Len McEnaney drew Utica within one. But that's as close as they came. Evans notched the winner with 3:14 to go when he was left ungarded just outside the crease. He was fed the ball by captain Bruce Woodrow and slipped it behind Card: But Utica $tubbornly refused to play dead. They scored with 2:11 remaining, but it was in vain. The clincher came with ten seconds' to play when Mark Lee sent a pass along the boards' behind the net to Redman who was stationed at the side of the goal. He popped it neatly behind Card.
