Those of a concert pianist are des- cribed as fine, fleeting and capable. The hands of Dr. Tom Millar are both of these. For quite some time the people of this community have been trying' to raise money in order topurchase a Heintzman Grand Piano for the Town Hall 1873. On Friday, March 30, this same town hall was packed with interested observers who came to see the skillful hands of Tom Millar breathe life into the dormant wooden frame. The audience sat in breath- less anticipation as the hands lovingly caressed the cold ivory keys, coaxing the notes from deep within the solid instrument. The hands continued working, bringing forth note after note and melody after melody. Gently at first the agile fingers flew over the black and white keyboard, building up to a climax and then silence, that was broken by the thunderous applause of the audience. While the music filled the room, the man and piano were one. No noise came from the sellout audience. Several people sat back with their eyes closed, each involved in a fantasy of his own which the beautiful tones of the man and his instrument brought. The music of the old masters filled the Town Hall that night.
