That means that (soon?) we will be enjoying some warm weather and that thought should be enough to put a smile on everyone's face. Speaking of smiles on faces there sure was a lot of beaming little boys who disembarked from some vehicles at the church on Sunday evening. The Sea- grave cubs and their leaders were returning from a weekend in Toronto. While in the big city the group enoyed such ehivgss as the Science €eéntre, C.N. Tower, Toronto Internation- al Airport, a show entitled "Stars for All Seasons" at the Planetarium and what holiday away' from home would ever be complete without a stopover or two at MacDonalds. While at the Science centre they also had Prince Albert News by Ruth Bonnell Special guest speakers at the Sunday morning service was Ross White and Marilyn Martin, a team sent by the Oshawa Presbytery. They presented "Oppor- tunity Now." Ross shared his faith story and Marilyn presented the mission story of the United Church, the theme being the time is now to deepen faith and commitment and become a more faithful steward. Mrs. Dickinson spent a week with her sister Mrs. Merle Murphy. Rick and Judy Olaisen visited Friday evening with Wayne and Ann Pugh, of Port Perry. We welcome home Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Snelgrove and Mr. and Mrs. Grant Hunter who have arrived home safely from Florida. This Friday evening the Couples Club will meet at the Community Centre at 8 p.m. for an evening of disco dancing. There "will be a guest couple who will be instruc- ting everyone. Stan and Gail Glass had Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Glass for Sunday company. On Monday Stan and Gail visited Mary Lynn Coulter in Thornhill. - We welcome Mr. and Mrs. Hector Hodgins home from Florida. Last Thursday evening a group of relatives from Lindsay, Oshawa and Port Perry were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Les Beacock, celebrating five birthdays and one wedding anniversary. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Jim Martin on the arrival of their granddaugh- ter. Improved health is wished to Mrs. S. Lindsay and Mr. F. Vernon who are in Port Perry Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. 3. Thank you also to Neil Wanamaker and Ken Sturman for assisting with the transportation, Accessories = The Final Touch got the final touch from the 'Seagrave Mad Hatters 4-H club when they journeyed to the Goodwood Community Centre on Satur- day to present the fashioh show with other 4-H groups in 'the area. Fol- . lowing the Achievement Day happenings the 4-H leaders Wendy Peyton and Enid Belair treated the gals to an evening of bowling and a feast of chicken. The young gals then presented their leaders with a small gift of appreciation. Saturday evening several little Beavers escorted their dads to the church basement where all enjoyed a delicious turkey dinner catered to by our U.C.W. The Father and Son Banquet is the highlight of the year for these little nippers and it seems to me there were quite a few proud daddies in attendance too. The most major attractionof the evening - next to dessert of course, was a magician ably assisted by none other than my little friend Ethan Lavereau. Thank you to all the leaders for organizing this very special evening. Our place was sure a bee- hive of activity on Saturday morning as truck after truck pulled in our driveway to unload cases of bottles picked up by grateful Boy Scouts who will be using the money received from the © return of the empties to help to defray the expenses of travelling and enjoying the Jamboree to be held in Winnipeg this summer.
