McEntyre, Port Perry. The meeting was conducted by the Presi- dent Mrs. F. Daw. The opening devotions were given by Mrs. D. Ashton when she gave some interes- ting facts of the life of Jane Scott. The study for the evening was given by Mrs. Russell Batten which was taken from the study book on China. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Roger Smith. They have a baby daughter 'Lori Joanne' a sister for Saun and Jason. 3 Joan Knight, Nellie Hopkins, Florence Ashton, 'Helen Batten and Sharon Gaggio attended the Women Alive Conference at Water- loo University over the May 6th weekend. The main speaker was Joni Erickson who has paraplegia but has a wonderful message to tell from her wheelchair. The regular monthly bible Learn to Drive PROFESSIONALLY with LUKE'S class meeting was held at the home of Mrs. W. Gardner. Mary Briscol was in charge of the program. Several poems of Helen Stiner Rice were read and Jennie Johnston told the story of Helen Stiner Rice's life. Plans are being made for the 40th anniversary of the class to be held in September at the church. - Mr. and Mrs. E. Heron enjoyed a weeks vacation in Winnipeg where they visited their daughter and family. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rowe and Penny. There was a miscellaneous shower held at the Com- munity Centre on May 5th to honour Miss Jo-Anne Lynde and Mr. Geno Constantino prior to their marriage. We wish this young couple much happiness. Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Humphrey, Chris and Douglas visited with rela- tives in Owen Sound over the weekend.
