They . were Matthew Jay, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Bradburn; Geremy Michael Hayes, son of Mr, and Mrs. Michael Cole; Leslie Ann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Dowson; Bradley Jonathon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Brian Morton; Charles' Arnold Gideon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sleep; Jessica Marie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Swain and-Karen Elizabeth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Swain. The choir sang an anthem "Would You Bless Our Homes". Rev. V.M. Parsons delivered a fine sermon, "Up Front" after which a trio composed of Jean Ferguson, Mary Lou Malcolm and Marlene Parsons sang "Bless This House." The Durham Region Gymnastics finals were held at Henry Street High School in Whitby on Tuesday evening. Congratulations to the folowing Cartwright young people who did so well. David Sandy won first on Vault, on Floor and first all round. He won. the D.E.A.A. Championship Trophy for boys. Chrissy Beddome came second on the Balance Beam in the elementary individual class. Jeff Beddome came second on the Floor. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Thompson and Susan held a family gathering in honour of Leslie Ann's christening. On Saturday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Neil Malcolm and Mary Lou attended the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Harris held in the C.E. Building of Brooklin United Church. They also attended the family Buffet dinner after- ward. Mrs. Hazel Gould of Australia is visiting her niece and her husband Mr. and Mrs. Bernie Gotham. She travelled by way of England and while on this side of the Atlantic will visit friends in U.S.A. Mr. and Mrs. George Wilson and family attended a Mother's Day family gathering at the home of Mrs. Al Wilson in Pickering. Mr. and Mrs. Al Assel- stine, Tania, Michael, and Mark of Guelph were week- end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Asselstine. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. Joe Frey and family, Nestleton. Wilma VanCamp gave the treasurer's .report. The Parks Board representative reported that the Recreation Centre is to be painted this year. On 'Friday, September 14 the 0.N.O. will be taking our husbands to the ball game in Toronto. On June 9 we will be assisting with the 25th anniversary of C.C.P.S. and Mr. Campbell's retirement party. This year the 0.N.O. will again be providing a bus to swimming lessons at Uxpool from July 9 to 23. Registra- tion will be at the home of Elaine Bailey, Scugog St. N. on Thursday, May 24 at 8 a.m. on a first come first served basis. Please note change of day. Cost for bus will be $5.00 per person. Following the meeting Wilma served a lunch of desserts, tea, coffee, and punch. The June meeting will be held at the home of Andrew Weir. This special night was held at the Blackstock Recreation Centre on Wednesday evening. Doug Allen presen- ted each boy with a small trophy and a medallion on a ribbon. Appreciation is extended to Blackstock Trailer Rentals, Doug Allen who provided these momen- tos to the boys. Following the presentation ceremony everyone enjoyed cake, ice cream, and pop which was kindly donated by the Dowson's Red & White, Port Perry.
