On Thursday, all candidates were introduced and made hrief speeches at two assemblies. Elections will be held Tuesday (to- day). Some candidates were elected by acclamation. They are Jackie Baker & Kelly Owen Involvement), Martha McCallum (Treasurer), Lynn O'Reilly (Fundraising) Tracey Denby (Foreign Child), Paula Price (Adver- tising), Ginny Burt (Secre- tary), Steve McIntyre and Mike Doupe (Boys Athletic Association) and Juliette Chow and Karey Brignall (At-Home). For the Girls Athletic Association the team of Pam Kennedy and Teri Hender- son will run against the team of Alison McNab and Leslie Forder. For the Social (Dance) Committee, Brian Barr and Rob Fellows will " run against Ellen Bulker, Trish Fewer and Mary Baxter. And, for the all- important positions of president and vice-president Mary Lou Bourgeois and Greg Fedyk will compete against George Cope and Lee Howsam. We wish the best of luck to all candidates. _-- od bi ey (Student - * Chain Saws Wins Fire Poster Award A grade five student from Prince Albert Public School has been awarded first place in the first annual Fire Prevention Poster Contest. Trevor McDonnell is seen here with Scugog Fire Chief Jack Cook, principal R. Rutlidge, the Carl B. Umphrey Memorial Trophy which the Durham Region Fire Chiefs have initiated since the Sunderland fire chief died in the line of duty last year. Baking can be left at Glenda Hutcheon's by 1:30 p.m. Many Seagravers enjoyed Marilyn Scott Porter in concert at the church Friday evening. 4 Our newest little farmer in the community is reported to be coming along just fine. Expect to see him on the tractor any day with his proud daddy. 'Baseball News" - 1. Children need coaches for baseball kids. Please call Wayne McCully at 357-3591 if you can spare some time to give. 2. Park Opening Day and Ball Tournament June 2. Baseball from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (2 games at a time). Races and prizes for child- ren. Horseshoe Tourna- ment. Dance at Oakwood Arena 8:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. Thank you fellas for a job well done by park members. Saturday in preparing the park for the opening and ball tournament. Also many thanks to Hans and Linda Buscher and ladies of Mariposa Estates for the lunch provided on Saturday.
