-- i ' 5 SLENTIA 2 TCVE IVI New Faces This Fall School principals on the move Students at several public schools in Scugog Township and surrounding areas are going to see some new faces in the offices of principal and vice-principal when classes start again in September. The Durham Board of Ed- ucation met Monday night and endorsed a personnel committee recommenda- tions concerning new ap- pointments at schools in Port Perry, Blackstock, Ux- bridge, Oshawa, Cannington, Brooklin and Pickering. At R.H. Cornish School in Port Perry, principal John Hogg is leaving after eight years to take up a new job as principal at Sunset Heights School in Oshawa. the new Cornish principal will be Murray Prentice, who for the past seven years has been head of Uxbridge Pub- lic School. At Cartwright Central School in Blackstock, princi- pal Doug Hogg will take over similar duties in Uxbridge, and his successor will be John Hinsch, a principal for the past two years at Valley- view School in Pickering. Mr. Hogg spent the last five years as principal in Black- stock. Vice principal Don Welsh at Cartwright Central School is moving to the Bow Valley School in Oshawa, and his successor will be Bill Kens- ington from Meadowcrest School in Brooklin. Mr. and Mrs. Harry McLaughlin, lifelong residents of the Cartwright area, celebrated their 50th Anniversary last Friday evening at the St. Johns Parish Hall in Blackstock. Many friends and relatives of the happy couple were on hand to wish them well on this very special occasion. Come in today for a demonstration without obligation. Demonstrations end June 23, 1979.
