Blair's High School princi- pal and a classmate wrote the' following tribute which wag used at his memorial ' 8ervice, "Blair may be considered one of ithe distinguished graduates of Cartwright High School. He completed 5 years in 4 - an accomplish- ment achieved by a very limited number of students. Although he was a hard worker at home, his alert and inquisitive mind and his sense of organization en- abled him to cope academ- ically. His sense of humour, his easy-going manner, his determination and willing- ness to work, all produced a good rapport with staff and students. During his school years Blair was an active and enthusiastic participant in all aspects of school life, including such diversified activities as drama, choir, chess, curling, skiing, Outers' Club and track and field. He was not only a participant in these clubs, but a loyal and enthusiastic member, willing to do his best for his group. Winning first place was not his prime objective; more important to him was the sense of accom- plishment derived from his having tried his best. In many situations his sensitiv- ity about the feelings and needs of others took priority over his own personal wants. As a result Blair was well liked and respected by all. His desire to learn and his sense of purpose took him to the University of Guelph where he received his Dip- ploma in Agriculture. His courses were supplemented by his involvement in 4-H and Jr. Farmers' pro- grammes. His ambition was shown in that he took extra courses in his final year; all his courses were shown with the idea of implementing theory into practical situa- tions. Blair, through his many fine qualities, has left us a legacy to be cherished and remembered with fond affection."
