Under the direction of John Foote, a group of young actors and actresses is now preparing for a September stage production which will depict famous scenes from almost 40 of your favourite movies. In all there will be scenes from 38 different films, including such classics as Dracula, the Wizard of Oz, and the modern day smash hits Jaws, Annie Hall, and Coming Home. There will even be a mime scene from one of Charlie Chaplin's earliest films. " Ten young actors from this area are involved in the production and all have had stage experience through high school productions or in plays produced here in Port Perry. Director John Foote says that the people involved are putting up their own money . of 38 film classics for this unusual production, and if all goes well they hope to form their own theatre group to stage plays in the Port Perry area. Each scene will last about four minutes, and there will be a narrator to introduce each scene to the audience. The sound track from the films will be used for the music. Rehearsals are presently underway at Town Hall 1873 in Port Perry and the date for the production has been set for September 8, at 8:00 P.M.
