8 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Wednesday, July 25, 1979 Nestleton, Caesarea Guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Donneral, Nestleton, during the past week were Lynda, Robert and Scott Mc- Elwain and Mrs. McElwain Sr. who motored from Gelert to celebrate George's birth- day along with Mildred and Bill Fortune. Recent guests of the Donnerals were Philip and Violet Langfeld, Willow- dale, Cheryl Langfeld and fiance Louis Bekiaris, and great grandchild Julie Walk- er from Sault Ste. Marie. Mildred and Bill Fortune visited Lynda and Terry Mc- Elwain in Gelert and Robert returned home with them to spend the week. The follow- ing week while taking Robert home they visited Patricia, Ken, Suzanne and Lori Welk in Eganville. Recent supper guest with Mr. and Mrs. Grahame Fish were Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Fish and Lisa, Oshawa, and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Leishman and boys of Reaboro. Mr. and Mrs. Grahame Fish en- joyed a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Victor Bannister of Cedar Creek George Kilpatrick visited Everard Joll at Newcastle on Tuesday. Victor Larocque is home again from Port Perry Hos- pital and is feeling better this time. Mr. and Mrs. John Farrow of South River were weekend visitors with the Rick Larocque family. Tod Willerton of Seagrave was visiting Mike Vander- meer last week. Grant Beacock of Toronto visited Mr. and Mrs. Victor Larocque on Saturday after- noon. Mary and Liz Baxter returned home last week from their trip out west. Lindsay and had supper with them on Wednesday evening. Bridal Showers On Thursday evening Mrs. Glenn Malcolm hosted a mis- cellaneous shower assisted by Mary Lou Malcolm for Laina, bride of Dennis Mal- colm. Guests present were relatives of the groom. Many lovely gifts were re- 'ceived and a social time enjoyed. A miscellaneous shower in honour of Laina, Mrs. Dennis Malcolm, was held in North Nestleton United Church Fri- day evening last with approximately thirty friends in attendance. After a short programme convened by Mrs. Grahame Fish assisted by Mrs. Ralph Sadler, many useful, practical gifts were presented. Laina in her warm, gracious manner thanked the ladies. Delectable sandwiches, squares, cookies etc. accom- panied by a refreshing cup of tea were served at the close by the U.C.W. who had spon- sored the evening. Attended Wedding Mr. and Mrs. Sam Cawker, Nestleton, attended the wed- ding of Michael Cawker and Gisela Foell held in Grace Lutheran church, Oshawa, on Saturday afternoon last. Genosha Hotel was the sett- ing for the reception and the wedding supper. Social News Mrs. Bruce Heaslip, Nes- tleton, was pleased to have her great nephew Mr. Bill Irvine of R.R. 1 Bowmanville for lunch on Sunday. In the afternoon Mrs. Heaslip ac- companied her nephew Mr. and Mrs. Lionel McKeown of Oakwood to the Boulevard Club, Toronto, to attend the wedding-reception of Heaslip's nephew Mr. and Mrs. Howard McKeown. On Tuesday evening of last week Mr. and Mrs. Grant Thompson were supper guests with Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Heaslip, the occasion being Mr. Thompson's birth- day. Our very best wishes. On Thursday Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Robinson and son Tom of Oakville were afternoon and evening guests with Mr. Bruce Heaslip was home for supper as well. Mr. Walter Kent of Sun- ridge has been visiting his daughter Mr. and Mrs. Norm Mairs and other relatives within the area for the past few days. Norman and Bernice hosted a reunion of the Mairs family on Sunday afternoon at their lovely home. Approximately forty of the clan were present in all, enjoying the swimming, the spacious grounds, the delicious foods etc. as well as having a wonderful time catching up on the latest family news. Visiting at the Cawker farm recently were: Sister Mrs. Norma Wilson, Mr. and' Mrs. Ted Wilson, Michael Kelly and Courtney of Dunt- roon, Ontario, Mr. and Mrs. Alan Cawker, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Cawker, Curt and Ca- thy all of Oshawa. A birth- day celebration was held on the Sunday, July 15th in honour of Norma's birthday. Congratulations! Bess Crozier of Rochester, New York, a former Port Perry girl, and Mary Naylor of Beaverton, a sister of Mrs. Grant Thompson, Nestleton, had lunch with Mr. and Mrs. Grant Thompson on Monday. George and Ella Bowers, Nestleton, are doing well. Ella is home from the hospi- tal and much improved healthwise, since surgery. George is home on weekends then returns to Oshawa for therapy during the week. Daughter Dorothy Chapman New Liskeard, is spending some time with her parents. Best Wishes for a complete recovery soon. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace were married in Port Perry and have lived here all their lives. Greenbank and area news by M. Beaton Church service will be held at the regular time of 11:30 next Sunday. Services are cancelled for the month of August. The Greenbank Commun- ity Beef Barbecue is fast approaching. August 3 to be exact. Ticket sales are good. The C.K.A.R. boys from Oshawa station are coming back for a re- match baseball game against the Greenbank Geri- tol Boys, also Geordie Beare has been tuning up his trio. If you'd care to sit and visit your neighbours after supper bring along a couple of lawn chairs. We'll try to keep the coffee pot on. Miss Mary Forfar of Agin- court is visiting her sister, Mrs. Mildred Thomson this week. Decoration Day in Green- bank Cemetery is August 19th. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Har- ry Phoenix on Wednesday were Mrs. Mary Shatford and Mrs. Mae Mcllroy of Aurora, and on Friday Mr. and Mrs. Jack Essery of Toronto enjoyed dinner with them. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Lee of Toronto visited in the com- munity on Saturday. Vacation Bible School is being held this week at the Church, with many children attending. Donations of cookies would be gratefully accepted. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Mc- Millan spent Thursday in Whitby with Doug and Ruby Lunney. Several ex-members of Port Perry Jr. Farmers gathered at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Don Beacock in Seagrave recently. The regular card party will be held in the hall on Friday evening at 8 p.m. Everyone welcome. Relatives and friends from Greenbank attended the wedding dance of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Mustard Satur- day evening in Uxbridge. Local Jr. Farmers attend- ed a field meet at Lakefield on Saturday.
