Mr. and Mrs. Jim Handley and Miss Mary Taylor of Scarborough were guests last week with Miss Hilda and Mr. Walter Hopkins. Mrs. Margaret Vincent en- joyed a two week visit with her son and family in Victor- ia, B.C. Visitors with Mr. and Mrs. E. Heron last Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. W. McAndless, Lenore, Scott, Karen and Linda of Don Mills and Mr. and Mrs. Drew Leaper and son Ian of Mississauga. Several people from the area took in the events of the county town carnival over the weekend including the parade and the Horticulture flower show. The show is sponsored by the Brooklin branch which has quite a number of members in the area. Mr. Jeff Gardner has gone to Alberta to take employ- ment on a farm. The August meeting of the Womens Institute will be held at Greenbank Park, on Wednesday August 15 at 12:30 with a pot luck picnic. The roll call is What do you think is the world's greatest problem and its' solution. The regular Euchre party is this Friday, August 10th at 8:00 at the hall. All welcome.
