This brought the final game for the cup between the Canadian Tire Whippets and Drapeau Cartage Selects. A great struggle developed with the game going most of the way 1 to 1 until Drapeau Selects put another goal away to become the first double of the day League and cup champions for 1979 Squirt Division. The semi-final game took place between Colin Ball Motors Mustangs, League Champions for 1979 Atoms, and the Peterborough Lum- ber Chippies. What a game. Nobody really knew what the result would be. However the Mustangs did it again Devils. The Atom final cup game proved to be a battle of skill and determination by both teams. The Mustangs man- aged to put a goal in shortly before half time. With the Devils playing great soccer, however the Mustangs would not be denied and soon scor- ed their second goal about 10 minutes from the end, and went on to score the last goal of the game, giving them the result 3-0 and the second double of the day.
