[0 a Bel Nestleton, Caesarea news by Mabel Cawker A'Variety Fair of Interest Congratulations to our neighbouring: village of + Blackstock on a very successful 114th Fair. Beginning with a colourful parade, with large crowds, excellent weather prevailing and the better than ever calibre of displays. Lots of activities for every age -'a great rural oriented Fair - livestock classes for horses, women's, children's school exhibits, "The International Year of the Child', the Amateur show - a new venture, all proved to be an exciting part of the fair to mention a few. . It must be rewarding to the Fair Board -and other interested person- nel to plan and carry out such an event. It was good to see many local folk partici- pating in the many different features at the fair. What a thrill to have one's name called on the P.A. system by the genial master of ceremonies Glenn Larmer ° to inform that your cattle are out at the homestead. After the Cawkers beating a hasty retreat -and missing out on the beef barbecue we found that thanks to kindly and concerned neighbours every- thing was under control - the 10th Concession being rela- tively safe for motor transit and the Frew corn crop intact. A splendid sermon for every day living. (a few excerpts). Tensions and pressures in modern living are great, no matter how we are we have our breaking points - the mind is often interrupted and disturbed with the bustle and confusion of todays living and we have to cultivate the art of living. How do we acquire peace - time for meditation and reflection? Our forefathers set aside a special hour each day for quiet and meditation. We all need a period of quiet. Mr. Parsons referred to the Hymn "Will Your Anchor Hold" which was sung with spirit. "At quiet time" we become more aware of the need of our souls - we need to be still and know God. Ushers were Mr. Ralph Sadler and Mr. Norma Mairs, and Mrs. L. Malcolm presided at the organ. Many visitors were welcomed. Service will be held next Sunday at the usual hour 11:15 a.m. Those who care to attend will be cordial- ly welcomed.
