KK Ko KK KC | Willow Hill Ceramics Lions participate in Stouffville soccer tourney Saturday, September 8 saw Port Perry Lions Scugog A team play Rush Henrietta, a team from the suburb of Rochester, New York. This game was a new experience for Scugog, who usually play local teams. The Lions were playing well but were not as experienced as the U.S.A. team. They almost scored twice when the ball hit the goal post and bounced away. The score was Rush Henri- etta-8, Scugog-0. Scugog's second game of the day was against a Scar- borough team Midland Cala- donia. This was a very good game with teams well matched. The first half ended in a 0-0 tie. The second half was a real battle for both teams but at the three quarter mark lan Porter, number. 11, scored for Scugog. This was the only goal of the game as Scugog did not allow any goals. The game ended Scugog-l, Midland Caladonia-0. ' Sunday, September 9 Scu- gog played a team called Chinquacouse from Brama- lea. Scugog's Ken Huggins, number 5, got the first goal early in the first half. Then the Bramalea tied it up. They were a strong team and Scugog putting up a good effort could not hold them off as they got two more goals to end the first half 3-1 for the Bramalae team. In the second half Scugog played a much stronger game but just could not manage to score. Chinquacouse got two more goals to end the game, Chin- quacouse-5, Scugog-1. Saturday, September 15th at the Port Perry High School will be our Tourna- ment. We hope as many parents as possible will be there to cheer the boys on as they can use all the support they can get. I think it gives them a lift to see Mom and Dad, aunts and uncles, Grampa and Grandmother cheering for them on the side lines.
