Kitney as guest speaker on Sunday morning. Rev. Kit- ney has retired to Canning- ton, Ontario, but continues to be active, especially in the work of Amnesty, through- out the world. Mrs. Kitney told the children an interest- ing story of what it was like to go to Sunday School in Trinidad. Troy McCully visited the birthday box on Sunday. Happy Birthday Troy! The Seagrave Choir will practice this Thursday even- ing at 8 pm. Any new additions would be more than welcome. Lindsay Presbytery will meet at Minden United Church at 3 p.m. on Wednes- day, September 26. Seagrave Church Anniver- sary will be celebrated on Sunday September 30 with Rev. Reg. Rose, mininster of Port Perry Anglican Church as guest speaker. Special music will be pro- vided by the choir. There will be no church or Sunday School at either Greenbank or Pinedale. The Seagrave congregation invited their sister congregations to share in their anniversary celebra- tion, Anyone interested in teaching Sunday School on a bi-monthly basis is please asked to call superintendent Gregg SMith at 985-7447. A few of our local residents including Betty Sommerville and Gregg Smith attended the official opening on Sun- day of the Central 7 Work- shop in Port Perry. Our Seagrave Old Timers came through for us on Sunday evening, when they won their game against the Oakwood team. Three cheers for our side! On Wednesday evening, September 19 our team will meet at the Seagrave Ball Park to play the newly form- ed team from Mariposa. Our team is also participating in a ball tournament this week- end. We play our first game at 6 p.m, Friday September 21 in Port Perry. Come on out and support.your super- stars! There will be a general U.C.W. bake sale on Friday afternoon, October 5 (Thanksgiving weekend). Please watch for further announcements concerning this item. About 40 guests attended the shower from Bowmanville, Black- stock, Enniskillen, Eden, Lindsay, Omemee, Sunder- land, North Bay, Port Perry, and Seagrave and surround- ing territory: The first Beaver meeting will take place on Thursday September 20 at 6:15 p.m. at the Seagrave Church. We hope to have an entertaining evening for all. Unfortunate- ly we are losing 2 leaders. Bill Muldoon will not- be participating this year, and Wayne McCully is happy to be a leader for the Seagrave Cubs.The Beaver Colony will miss these 2 fine leaders. Fortunately we will acquire the return of Cheryl Standish and Karen Carr (985-3504). Other leaders are Erin Port- er (357-3303), Don Adams (357-3730), and Angela Dyke- man (985-8563). We have not confirmed the proposed Oct- ober 3swimups. Notices will be sent home ¢oncerning this. The honoured boys for the swimup include Shane Branton, Herbie Hatch, Kris Lavereau, Jason McCully, Patrick Muldoon, Kevin Puckrin, Ian Smith and Todd Taylor. We have confirmed from Mr. Carroll with' Nonquon Conservation for an ev of slides and a visit to the Beaver Dam for Wednesday October 10. We shall meet at the Church at 6 p.m. that evening. Happy Birthday to Darryl Dykeman who turned 6 on September 16. He had a very entertaining day with a few of his friends at Mec- Donalds Restaurant.
