Mrs. Taylor's sister Mrs. Jean Downing of Magneta- wan visited with the Hough- lands: for a week following her sister's passing. We will all miss Grace who was a good friend and neighbour to all of us. Last weekend was a busy one for most of us. Mrs. Lyons was in Peter- borough with Darlene who is attending Trent University. Mr. and Mrs. Watson, Mr. and Mrs. Jeffery went with the Sr. Citizens on a tour into the Catskill Mountains and spent a few days at Oquaga Lake with the Scotts. The entertainment, food, and lod- ging were superlative and we had a number 1 bus driver to keep us in good humor. Thanks to Dorothy St. John for making arrangements. On Friday evening Epsom Ladies gathered at the home of Mrs. Archie Watson to greet our newest bride, Mrs. Keith Ellicott. It was a welcome to Epsom and get acquainted party. A small gift was presented to Kim with all our love and best wishes. We didn't know it was Keith's birthday or we might have invited him too. We're late, but Congratula- tions and best Birthday wish- es Keith. Mrs. Downing accompan- ied Don and Stella Asling to visit Mrs. Alma Asling at Whitby last Sunday and had a good visit with her former neighbours. Corn roasts are the order of the day. The Epsom-Utica Social Club (please don't confuse us with the former Couples Club) had a good time Satur- day evening with corn roast outside, coffee and dessert served in the Sunday School rooms. Then a few games. Mrs. Kerry had some high school entrance examination papers from as far back as 1888. There sure were some changes made - We all flunk- ed. Mr. and Mrs. J. Gourlie had a family dinner party recently as Mr. and Mrs. Ab. Gourlie were returning to the Yukon. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Taylor had a birthday party for their son Ray on Saturday. Their son John was also home for the weekend. Miss Alice Carnaghan of Scarborough was an over- night guest with the Taylors.
