| Prince Albert UCW | by June Bidgood The first meeting of the U.C.W. for the fall season was held on September 19th in the Church basement. There were 22 members and one visitor present. Sixteen hospital visits were repor- ted. Lila Clarke opened the meeting with a reading. The roll call was to tell the name of the minister who married you and where you were married. : The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. There were three thank-you cards received during the summer months. The various committees presented their reports. In June, Helen Wozney assisted by several other ladies, held a yard sale at her"home. Due to the success of this project, it was decided that the U.C.W. should hold another yard sale next year. So, ladies, when you are doing your fall and spring house cleaning, keep the sale in mind and set aside any items which you might like to contribute to this sale. The ladies are also asked to keep in mind October 21st ° which is the day of our U.C.W. Sunday this year. Mrs. Joyce McLean, Presi- dent of the Oshawa Presby- terial United Church Women will be the guest speaker. Any U.C.W. members who would like to sing in the choir that day please see Eva Hunter. There will be a special thankoffering at the service as well as the regular collec- tion. All proceeds from the thank offering will go to assisting the Vietnamese family which the Port Perry and Prince Albert United Churches are sponsoring. On October 22nd there will be a Presbyterial meeting in the Port Perry United Church. Eva Hunter and Norma Robinson will be representing the Prince Albert U.C.W. in the devo- tional part of the meeting. Shirley Brawn extended an invitation to any of our ladies to attend the Women's Fellowship Group which meets every Wednesday morning in the Port Perry United Church lounge. The theme for this fall is '"Women of the Bible." Lorraine Andrews is think- ing of starting an Explorers Group in Prince Albert. This Club is for girls 7 to 11. The U.C.W. agreed to give Lorraine some financial assistance to get the Club started. Dorothy Hope, Eva Hunter and Helen Jewell then took over the devotional part of the meeting.
