Four memorial stained-glass windows were dedicated in the memory of the following: Christ at the Door in memory of Gordon and Erma Strong presented by the family; David the Shepherd King with Harp in memory of Harold and Mab- el Hocken presented by the family; St. Cecilia, Patron of Music at the Organ in mem- ory of Gladys Thompson pre- sented by the family, and Christ inviting Come Unto Me in memory of Russell and Frances Mountjoy and Pearl Hill. Rev. V. Parsons preached a fine sermon en- titled "Truly Thankful". Mr. and Mrs. Elgin Taylor along with Mrs. Earl Trewin visited relatives in the area on Tuesday afternoon. Doreen was renewing friendships in India from her three year stay there several years ago. After dinner Douglas Bilbey called the meeting to order for the nomination of the officers for next year. Canoeing standards are controlled by the Canadian Recreational Canoeing Association. Charles Moors and Marian Harper also won prizes. The prize for the most lone hands went to Ted Heron. The proceeds for the evening went toward the park fund. Mrs. Helen Darling, Mr & Mrs. Denis Walker and daughter Amie visited with Mrs. Mildred Routley and Miss Eileen Hamill one day last week. Mr. & Mrs. Alfred Fisher and grandsons Bradley and Chris Batten attended the Plowing Match near Chatam last week. Mr. & Mrs. E. Heron enjoyed a boat trip around the Muskoka Islands last Wednesday. It was Rally Day at Burns Church last Sunday. The service was conducted by Rev. McEntyre whose message was about '"offer- ing ourselves to God." Mrs. A Richardson and Miss Ruth Olivers classes sang four choruses and motion songs. And the Junior choir sang *I love the Bible." The scriptures were read by Miss Elaine Knight and Mrs. W. Hopkins and Mr. Ray Porter led in a Thanks- giving litany. Mr. Douglas Ashton, superintendant of the Church School introduced the teachers who in turn told something about their class also gave the names of those who graduated into the next class this fall.
