One is the stone over the graves of two young men, William E. Foley, and Asenath C. Richmond, who died January 12, 1856. The inscription contains a message which could be a warning and also a clue as to how the youths lost their lives more than a century ago. '"May every thoughtless soul who reads awake, and from our early death an awful warning take," is part of that message. The museum researchers would like to know if any Port Perry Star readers can shed some light on this mystery, possibly hearing the tale from their grandfathers or great uncles. If anyone has any idea what happened to William and Asenath that brought them to such an early end, contact the Scugog Shores Museum, or the Port Perry Star.
