With the calendar filling up quickly and only 19 shopp- ing days left until Christmas, the Big Day will be upon us before we turn around. Seagrave's White Gift Service is taking place this Sunday, Dec. 2. The Sunday School children are asked to please be at the church by 20 minutes to 10 for a brief rehearsal. Don't forget your white gifts! Our Christmas Concert is scheduled for Friday Dec. 14 at 7 pm. All children attending Sunday School will be involved in a class gift exchange or will be receiv- ing a gift from the Sunday School. Any children not attending Sunday School will have their name taken at the door and will receive a candy bag from Santa. Therefore would parents and grand- parents please refrain from bringing additional gifts. Any questions concerning this, please call me at 985- 3841. This year's fellowship sister supper' will be on Wednesday Dec. 12 at 6:30 p.m. at Crandell's Riverboat (formerly the Port Tavern.)All ladies in the village and area are cordial- ly invited to attend. Just bring a $3. gift for exchange later in the evening. The cost of the buffet supper is $5. per person. The Seagrave Parks and Recreation dance is to be held on Saturday, December 15. Tickets can still be - obtained from Frank Brant- on or Bert Hutcheon. Seagrave Unit 1 of U.C.W. will visit the Community Nursing Home in Port Perry on Wed. Dec. 5 at 2 p.m. All are welcome to participate in the carol singing. This year's candlelight service will take place at the Greenbank Church. The tentative date is December ® 24 at 7:30 p.m. A lovely wedding was held last Saturday at the Cam- bray Church to join Gord Durward and Jane Terril in marriage. After the dinner, everyone enjoyed a dance at the Cambray Hall. Gord and Jane are now honeymooning in Florida and on return will be residing at Gord's farm north of Sonya. On the wedd- ing day the groom"s father Mr. James Durward cele- brated a birthday. \ -- Marion and James Dur- ward enjoyed having their granddaughters Shelley, Jody, and Jennifer visit with them over the weekend. Seagrave and Greenbank Scouts and Senior Cubs Aravelled to Ottawa last Fri- day and Saturday under the direction of Paul Saulnier and assistants Ken Sturman, Roy Jobin and David Truax. They were hosted by the Sea Scouts of Ottawa. Places of interst included the Parlia- ment Buildings, War Museum, Air Museum, Mus- eum of Scignce and Technol- ogy, Museum of Man, the Governor General's resi- dence and a conducted tour of the city. A reminder to the Beavers that they are invited to be in the Santa Claus parade in Port Perry this Satuday Dec. 1. Each of the 12 clubs in the district made some presentations regard- ing needlepoint. Our part Seagrave area news was an exhibit entitled "Essentials of Needlepoint" with Casey Jones acting as commentator. The only special award for Seagrave this season was to Cathy Carr who received her Provincial Honours for having completed 12 units. The next unit which starts in the new year sounds inter- esting.
