President Elizabeth Stickmann welcomed every- one and opened the meeting by singing the Opening Ode and repeating the Institute Creed. Roll Call - "What do you do to keep fit." Mrs. M. Mero welcomed all with a number of Christmas selections on the piano. The Devotional was a very meaningful candle-lighting service. Those taking part were Betty Stone, Barbara Ward, Muriel Gibson, Grace Hunter, Betty McGee, Ruth Till and Aleta Leask. Marie Cookman accompanied ont the piano. Ann St. John sang two lovely solos - 'Tiny Baby", and "Have a Merry Little Christmas'. Following the Devotional, Helen McKean chaired the meeting for a short 'Overall' business meeting. A motion passed that the same Overall Executive another year - Pres. H. McKean, Sec. - R. McMillan, Treas. - H. Thomson. It was decided that an overall meet- ing would be called only when necessary. A motion was passed that we leave the allocation at the same amount for another year. A motion was passed that we raise the price for a hot meal to $5.00 per plate. Rev. J. Roundell then called all the new Executives to come forward, and he conducted a short Installa- tion Service. Betty Stone said there were about 30 old choir gowns to be disposed of. The President then had the honour of presenting our Island girl with the scholar- ship award winning cheque - Carol Wood being the reci- pient this year. Alva Thompson gave a good and interesting report from the area convention at the Royal York Toronto on November 8th and 9th, of which she attended as our delegate. Mrs. Morrow gave a reading - recipe for Christ- mas Delight and closed by singing O' Canada. Betty Reader's group in charge of Education and Cultural activities took charge of the program. Lilo Czilok demonstrated "Exercise to Music' which quite a few took part in - and many more of us should have. Mrs. Alva Thompson then played the part of Santa Claus. Everyone enjoyed their many and varied gifts. Lunch of sandwiches, meat tray, Christmas cake and tea & coffee were enjoyed. A motion was passed that Marie Foster purchase and deliver a turkey for the Manse and a turkey for the Caretaker. We were pleased to welcome Mrs. H. Holtby into our group. Elma closed the meeting with a Prayer. The groups joined in sing- ing Grace and partaking of a delicious '"'pot luck" luncheon. Mrs. M.
