A ------ RETR 8 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Wed., December 19, 1979 Seagrave news by Marilyn Beacock I expect both young and old are eagerly awaiting with excitement and antici- pation that very special day of Christmas. Hey kids, I hear that some 'elves have been seen peeking through windows and around corners checking to see if your're being good, so you'd better do as Mom and Dad say or you might be disappointed Christmas morning. Speaking of excitement and anticipation that was the order of the evening on Friday when our S.S. stages its annual Christmas concert which was ably M.C.'d by our S.S. supt. Greg Smith. From the nursery class right up to the senior class it was a rollicking success. Our appreciation goes out to all the teachers, parents, Mr. Keene and anyone else who contributed their talents to make this evening so enjoy- able for all. I musn't neglect to mention that a jolly man in a bright red suit made an appearance at the end of the concert and distributed gifts to over 60 eager little hands. Several U.C.W. ladies as well as other guests thoroughly enjoyed the Fellowship Sister dinner on Wed. night at the Crandells Riverboat Restaurant. After a delicious buffet dinner all returned to the church where DO-NO's Record, Craft & Hobby World GIFT IDEAS For Mother or Sister - BEAD DOLL KITS - - LATCH HOOK KITS - - NEEDLE POINT - i ee Port Perry Plaza Phone: 985-2839 (TOP DRAWERS | has a beautiful way of saying .. The paper drives are organized in the fall each year when the price of paper goes up due to a higher demand for insulation, which is what the paper is made into. Above are some of the boys and leaders loading the last few bundles onto a truck for transportation to the city, where they will pick up a cheque for approximately $200 for their efforts.
