One day later they were beated 7-4 by the eighth place Ice Hawks in Beaver- ton. Port Perry has been plagued by inconsistency all season and this was clearly evident in their most recent outings. The Beaverton game was a rare occasion for Port Perry coach Doug Scott in that he had a full complement of players, forcing him to sit out rookie defenceman Charlie Brown. The four MoJacks goals came from three different shooters. Rob Garrow, who has been one of the top forwards on the team lately, Phil Cochrane and Bill Bridge did the damage Garrow added two asssits. Garrow also had a two goal effort against Uxbridge. He chipped in with a pair of assists there as well, giving him eight points in two games. INSTANT PASSPORT PHOTOS Ready while you wait. Garrow opened the scoring when he slammed a Phil Cochrane rebound into the net past goalie Joe Keg. The only other goal of the period came when Sandy Cameron rifled a slap shot by Raymond Gibson with 4:30 left after receiving a pass from Jim Stewart. Gibson had his ups and downs during the inning. He allow- ed six goals but came up with a number of tough saves, especially in the second period when Port Perry was shorthanded. Defenceman Bill Owen was given a game miscon- duct for the sixth time in seven games for his part in a second scuffle with Don Kish. The fray started when Owen checked Kish behind the MoJack net. Owen was given the gate but Kish remained to score one goal and assist on three others. Owen amassed a total of six minutes in minor penalties at 7:52, paving the way for three Ice Hawk goals. The first IceHawk power play goal came at 13:48 as Mike Carnevale backhanded a shot from the side of the net in behind Gibson. Playing five aside Beaver- ton scored twice within a 13 second span with under five minutes remaining. Dave Gray got the first one and Sproxton followed with a shot from the slot after a set up from Kish. Port Perry got one back with 31 seconds left in the segment when Cochrane deflected a Garrow drive from the point. Mike Healey was situated in front of the net looking for a deflection and he became embroiled in a fistic exchange with Gray. It looked as though the MoJacks might make a comeback when Bridge nett- ed a slap shot one minute into the final period. Kish countered nine minutes later when he slipped the puck beneath Gibson's legs after backliner Steve Jones was caught up the ice. In the middle of the period Cochrane and Garrow took simultaneous minor penal- ties, Garrow for hooking and Cochrane for unsportsman- like conduct, but Port managed to kill them off successfully. Beaverton ran into two penalties with under four minutes remaining. With 3:22 to go Gibson was removed, giving the Mo-- Jacks a six skater to three advantage. It paid off in small dividends when Garrow scored with 2:24 left. After the goal Gibson return- ed to the pipes but was pulled again with 1:10 to be played. This time the Hawks got a goal on the Garrow miscue. UXBRIDGE GAME The Uxbridge skirmish was a penalty filled contest in which one Bruin was given a match misconduct and coach Chuck Phillips was given a game misconduct. Four different MoJacks scored a pair of goals in the contest. Bridge, who was selected player of the game, Cochrane, Garrow, and Rob Greiner each got a couple. Greiner is a speedy forward with good moves who is playing in his third game of the year. He was with the team last year.
