Baird, Secretary-Beryl 44 cal Society officially march- ed into its second decade on Monday, January 21 at its annual general meeting in the Town Hall 1873. The meeting began with a welcome from President Barbara Phair. An ensemble of eleven girls from the Port Perry High School Girls' Choir perform- ed three songs apropos to the Port Perry community. After Hazel -Slemmon had thanked the girls the business portion of the meet- ing got underway. Mrs. Helen Redman conducted the 1980 election of officers, directors and museum board representa- tives presented by the nominating committee. The slate was unanimously approved and past president Redman asked for renewed vigour and participation in Various reports were presented to the member- ship and a vote of gratitude was given to resigning museum board member Mrs. Lucille Grey. After a slide-tape presentation on "Interpret- ing 'an Historic House" the membership enjoyed cookies coffee and conversation. The next general meeting of the Society will be tentatively Monday, March 17 at the Town Hall 8:00 p.m. We still have two executive positions to be filled - the guide convena and 'the Pioneer Days chairperson; if you can help us out please contact one of our executive members. The executive officers for 1980 are: Past president- Helen Redman, President- Barbara Phair, 1st Vice- Dora Martyn, 2nd Vice-Russ Pearce, Treasurer-Marg Bruce, Membership-Janet Galberg, Historian-Barbara Short, Curatrix-Trish Holman.
