Two victories for Novice No markers went up on the score board for the Pierce Auctioneers last Friday night as Omemee went home just barely winning 1-0. Solid goal-tending kept the score down for Port that evening. The Pierce Auctioneers lacked zing on home ice from which little comment can be made, but put the boys on the road at visitors ice and they give a superb hockey game. Saturday night in Ajax, the spectators watched Port Perry win 3-1. The 3 lines had it all together. Good passing, clean checks, and keen offensive play saw Port through. Mike Sorley and Claire Cornish answered the goals, each unassisted. Credit should be mention- ed to our much improved defense. They work hard but rarely get published, though not unnoticed. There's not too many who can out hustle Brent McMillan and Derek Lewis races back fast from the blue line to protect our net. Neil Mark and Derek Fitzgerald have shown great improvement. It's not often the pucks get by big Paul Wylie as he knows how to dump them back in. Mike Toye has saved many goals with his knack at poke- checking. Please come out and support Minor Hockey.
