There were eighteen rinks of enthusiastic curlers in attendance. Most were from the local club but there were visiting rinks from both the Manvers and Millbrook Clubs. Each rink played two six-end games which all enjoyed to the fullest. After all the games were complet- ed, everyone along with some guests enjoyed a roast beef dinner catered by the members of the Ladies Curling Club. After the dinner President Cameron Porter officially brought the greetings from the Club with the hopes that all had enjoy- + ed the day. Gerald Kelly gave a brief tribute in memory of Bob Fletcher who had been a very dedicated curler until his untimely death. He announced that the rink of Merrill Van Camp, Aileen SAVE TAX DOLLARS ON YOUR RRSP Our Best NO FEE Rates Van Camp, Dale Van Camp and Valerie Van Camp were the first winners of the Bob Fletcher Memorial Trophy which was presented by Mrs. Bob Fletcher. Schedule Manager Floyd Argue presented second prizes to Terry and Brenda Malcolm and Trevor and Lorraine Nesbitt. David Petrie presented third prizes to the Club President, his brother and two sisters, namely Cameron, Joan and Roger Porter and Linda Spry. Bill Thompson presented Consolation prizes to Bob and Pat Smith and Doug and Judy Wooley. day of fun and tellowship. Mrs. Bernie Gotham returned home from a six week visit with her father and other members of her family in Australia. When she left that Southern land the temperature was 108 degrees F. but when she reached Ontario the mercury was at 8 below zero and soon fell lower than that. How is that for a change. The Tuesday evening Senior Citizens' Card Party had 20 tables with/the follow- ing winners: 1-Ruby Tripp- 85; 2-Jean 3-Earl Prescott-83; 4-Vera Fins 55 5-Marion Bell-78; _6-8usie Harris-78; Low-Neta Ken Crawford gave the'" Fish. customary vote of appreci- ation to the ladies. A doorprize donated by Bob Smith was won by Gerald Kelly. The remainder of the even- ing was spent in dancing to the music of R. Jackman. Several doorprizes were won. Everyone enjoyed a fine G.
