PORT PERRY STAR -- Wed., February 6, 1980 -- 2) Seagrave and area news by Mrs. Sheila Sears Salutations good friends and neighbours. I hope this finds you in excellent health and spirits. I am pleased to inform you that Laurence Davis has returned home from hospital and Bill Keene is recovering nicely. Bill is expected to be home this week. This past Sunday, the Seagrave United Church congregation welcomed Rev. Roundell back from a vacation in Florida. Mrs. Fern Tobin graciously and expertly provided the organ music during the service. Brandon Puckrin was the only contributor to the Birthday box. Brandon contributed his four pennies with obvious pride and delight. A smiling congre- gation sang Happy Birthday to the stalwart little man. Two of our Sunday School classes were given special treats last Sunday. Mrs. Donna Wanamaker and her assistant, Miss Joanne Nobbs, took their class to lunch at McDonalds. I went along as second chauffeur and must say the ten children behaved in an exemplary fashion. On Sunday evening, co- instructresses Mrs. Diane Puckrin and Mrs. Donna Phypers took their class to see the film, "In Search of Historic Jesus". I under- stand that the children found the film a rather moving experience. The first Communion Service of the new year will be celebrated next Sunday, Feb. 10th at Seagrave United Church. The Lindsay Presbytery will meet at Cambridge United Church, Lindsay on Wednesday, Feb. 20th at 3:00 p.m. The Greenbank Brownies and the Seagrave Brownies will hold their parent and daughter banquet at the Seagrave United Church at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23rd. The Seagrave Brownies are hosting a district baking competition on Saturday, March 1st at the Seagrave United Church. Congratu- lations are forthcoming to Michelle McAskill who was enrolled as a Brownie on Jan. 22nd. The Greenbank Seagrave Group Committee will meet this Thursday, Feb. 7th at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Don Beacock.
