On Friday, February 29, the Blackhawks will be competing in their fifth tournament, this being in Oshawa. The schedule is as follows: Friday, February 29 - 3:00 p.m. - Kingston vs. Uxbridge - Civic Auditorium. Saturday, March 1 - 1:30 p.m. - Over 50's vs. Uxbridge - Harmon Park. Saturday, March 1 -5:00 p.m. - Oshawa vs. Uxbridge - Harmon Park. The finals will be played Sunday afternoon in the Donevan Complex. On Thursday, March 6th in the Uxbridge Arena the Blackhawks will be playing host to the Toronto Italian Oldtimer Hockey team. The first 100 children accom- panied by their parents to the game will be given a free Blackhawk hat. This game should turn out to be an excellent contest as the Toronto Italians have a strong line-up and have won many tournaments in the YOUNG DOMINION HARDWARE 180 Queen Street, PORT PERRY - 985-7962 "A" classification. The line- up for Toronto looks like this: Gino Cuccia, Jack Dockeray, Ton Mecalist, Bob Pallanete, rat Remoldi, Ross Morrison, Gus Karrys, Bill Ford, Dom DiBerardino, Ed Winter, Alf Trotta, Vic Tomasicchio, Ralph Ruffo, Guy Sabourini, Joe Badali, Joe Casella, Connie Man- dalla, Bob Hodgson, Lou Lucchetta, Joe Scro and Mickey Vetere. The above players have played for various hockey teams such as Toronto Marlies, St. Mikes, Nova Scotia, Barrie Flyers, Dixie Beehives and the American Hockey League. The Uxbridge Blackhawks will feature players like Garnet Warriner, Garry Geer, Jim Burnett, Bob Blackhawk Oldtimers | having fine season Bradbury, Peter Morris, Jerry Luke and John Lajoie from the Port Perry area as well as Wayne Redshaw, Dean Evans, Jack Redshaw, Eugene More, Bud Lehman, Ken May, Fred Ballinger, 'Will Peddie, - Ron* Milroy, "Tip"' Vipond, Murray Jones, Ron Pollard, Norm Hofley, and Harvey Apple- ton. In all the Blackhawks represent ten small com- munities. Hopefully parents will bring their ~children on March 6th to see two solid hockey teams as they play the game without slapshots or body contact. The Ives came out skating and check- ing from start to finish. The final score was 12-1 for Port Perry. On Sunday, Feb. 17, 1980 Port Perry Ives travelled to Oshawa for their final game __of the schedule to_play. the Oshawa 1 team. They start- ed off checking and skating from the first whistle and kept it up the whole game which they came out on top - with a score of 9-3. It was a great way to end the season winning our last two games. - Scoring for Port was Rhonda White 8 goals, Janice Jack- man 1 goal, Janet Dean 4, assists, Kelly Raines 2 assists and Michelle Newell 2 assists. With eight assists given out you know there was some great passing. Keep it up girls, playoffs are coming up soon. .
