At 4:00 Sunday, with the series tied at one win apiece, C & B Livestock and Laroc- que's Electric matched up. C&B were without the ser- vices of goaler Keith Fraser, who was replaced by Mike Healey. Larocque's got one by him at the 3:23 mark of the first on a deke by Bill Bridge from Kopie DeJong and Richard Honey. The first period ended with the 1-0 score as both teams had chances but missed. Most of the second period went the same as the first had ended, and it looked like Larocques would win when Bill Owen scored from Ron Redman with 1:38 to play forcing overtime. In the 5 minute total goals overtime, Laroc- que struck first as Barry McLure tallied from Colin Wackett to take the lead. C&B then tied it up on a goal by Mark Lee from Ron Red- DEBENTURES GUARANTEED INVESTMENTS man and went ahead to win when Lee again scored, this time from Bill Owen. The final score was 3-2 for C&B in overtime. As they'd done in the Cobourg tour, Beacock's Hardware found themselves behind very quickly as Jack Monsma put Utica Farm Equipment on the board at the :39 second mark on a goal assisted by Rick Collins and Tim Mitchell. Beacock's tried fighting back but couldn't get one past Don Card and found themselves down 2-0 at the end of the first period after Len Mec- Enaney tallied from Tim Ashbridge. Nearing the end of the second period, Tim Ashbridge scored Utica's third goal on a set-up from Mike Mole. To cap off the 4-0 score, Mole from Collins and } Monsma with 1';12 to play earned Utica the right to play C&B in the finals again this season. Good Luck to C&B in the Regionals this weekend. Tie and loss for Bantams B against Sharon By Danny Millar Port Perry Canadian Tire Bantam B's started their semi-final series against Sharon the same way, with a tie followed by a loss. The first game was deadlocked after a ten min- ute overtime 44 on Friday, March 14. Port Perry got three of their goals while playing shorthanded. It makes one wonder why the Sharon coach did not decide to de- cline further penalties, as football rules allow. Captain Peter Oosterholt got the first one with 6:46, yet to be contested in the first period as Brian Hendricks still had 50 seconds remaining in his elbowing infraction. Jamie Nesbitt got his first of a pair of goals for Sharon at 10:41. John Kitch- ing drew the assist. The first period ended in that 1-1 deadlock as both goalies, Doug Arscott and Sharon's Joey Thompson, played well. Mark Kerry drew a roughing penalty early in the second peériod and before he got back out, Hendricks had scored to give Port Perry a 2-I'lead. Oosterholt, who has really sparkled recently, and Stan Glass were accre- ditted with assists. Mike Thompson scored by sliding a shot into an EASTER EGG PURE FOOD COLOUR KIT EXTRA DRY ANTI-PERSPIRANT || 1 39 200 mi Vaseline NTRS! Sharon finally took ad- vantage of a Port Perry penalty when Oosterholt went off for interference with 4:50 to go in the second period. Danny Dowey shoved a rebound past Ars- cott after Mark Shelton and Brian Johnston tried to jam it underneath the netminder. Port's Chris Martens took a tripping call at 12:08 but it didn't hurt. Kerry put Port up 4-2 when he shot the puck in after carrying it in from the side. Linemates Oosterholt and Hendricks assisted. Nesbitt got his other goal with 59 seconds left in the period after taking passes from Don Purdham and Kev- in MacNeil. Sharon struck quickly in the third period, as left win- ger Shelton scored 12 sec- onds after the puck had been dropped on the first shot of the period on Arscott. There was no further scoring for 24:48, including the extra period. There were several chances though, most of them by Port. Thompson let go a slap shot in the last minute of the period but it was blocked. Kerry was stymied twice in the over- time.
