In his -letter to Social Services minister Keith Norton, Mr. Fletcher is high- ly critical of Central Seven and the way in which he feels the Association has dealt with the residents of Ger- row's Beach over the issue so far. At one point in the letter to Norton, Mr. Fletcher sug- gests that further provincial money be denied Central Seven because of the way the Association has handled this matter. At the conclusion of Mon- day's two hour meeting with council, Mr. Fletcher asked council to delay the written confirmation Central Seven is seeking that the zoning by-law permits a group home without amendment. He also asked that Central Seven be required to spell out in writing exactly what is proposed for the group home: the number of resi- dents, supervision, renova- tions to the interior of the house. "It is important that this be on record in writing before council says that a group home is permitted under the terms of the zoning by-law," said Mr. Fletcher. The meeting concluded with council taking no action on either of the two requests. However, during the meet- ing, councillor Reg Rose did say that Scugog Township would be able to retain some control over the group home through a licencing by-law which the Township is now preparing.
