\\ Q Museum opens the doors The Scugog Shores Museum has opened its doors for another season and there are numerous fascinating displays which show the cultural and historical past of this part of Ontario. From now until May 18, the museum will be open to the public on weekdays, and after May 18 will be open on weekends and holidays. Coming up on May 17 and 18 is the annual Pioneer Days, a popular event for Scugog residents and visitors alike. . Seagrave news by Mrs. B. Somerville Happy Easter folks! The lovely Easter lilies in the Church Sanctuary were supplied by the U.C.W. and Mrs. L. MacNeil in the memory of Rev. MacNeil. A get well wish goes this week to Master Kris Laver- eau who was hospitalized last week for an appendect- omy. Kris is now home but unfortunately can't return to school for another week. Bet you really feel bad Kris! Little Craig Beacock is also still hospitalized and is coming along nicely as expected. We also appreciate the loan of tables from the Blackstock United Church, the Nestleton Community Centre and the Blackstock Recreation Centre. Thanks too to all the parents and people in Black- stock community who attended the fair, discussed ideas with exhibitors and in general helped to make this year's fair a worthwhile and viable event. The Senior Citizens of Cartwright Local 363 cele- brated their 10th annivers- ary recently. A plant donated by Turner Greenhouse as a tribute to our senior members who have passed on. A 2 minute silence was observed in their memory. namely, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Smith, Mrs. Ruby Strong, Mr. and Mrs. Russel Mountjoy, Mrs. Con- boy, Mr. and Mrs. Osmond Wright, Mrs. Betty Badeau, Mr. and Mrs. Tennyson Samells, Mr. Walter Lawrence. The plant was then sent to a member who is in the hospital at the present time. The Club presented our past presidents, Carl Wright, Bert Gibson, and Ed Harris with a past President's jewel pin each. Of interest to our residents is an Art Exhibit entitled Under this Roof, which is being shown at the Robert McLaughlin Gallery, Oshawa, until April 23. This is a collection of sixty-three pen and ink drawings of historical homes in Southern Ontario. One of the artists is our own Sandra Thompson. Congratulations, Sandra, we are proud of your accom- plishment. Quite a number of families have been involved in maple syrup making this spring. We are hoping to start a Men's Lob-ball team or teams in the Blackstock or Nestleton area.
