Prince Albert area news (From page 10) Friday evening, April 11 in St. David's Anglican Church, Toronto, a most impressive and colourful ceremony took place of Shrine No. 4 when (Rev.) Chas. Clarke and his wife Lila were installed as Worthy High Priestess and Watchman of Shepherds White Shrine of Jerusalem. Charlie (and Lila who was attractively attired in a gown of mild rainbow shades and the bodice was touched off with sequin trim) were both escorted around the cross and up to the dias by their two grandchildren Charlene and Max Daigle. During the evening Mrs. L. (Beth) Pereman rendered two lovely vocal solos My Task and Bless This House, accompanied by Mrs. Gladys Kennedy. Mr. Bruce Snelgrove contributed a suit- able violin selection The Holy City with his wife Myrtle at the piano. The Clarkes three daugh- ters Helen Chalifoux,Catha- rine Daigle, Fern Murray presented their mother a copy of Holy Scripture. And now time lent opportunity for the many friends to extend a sincere blessing to Charlie and Lila during their noble term of office. Mrs. C. Vernon, Mrs. Williamson, Mrs. Jewell and others ~ mentioned made up the several members witnessing the installation and served a sumptuous cold buffet and trimmings that blend-in with making the memorable occasion complete for some 130 guests. The Clarkes wish to thank Florence Smith and Helen Wozney for making fifty dainty corsages. Also appre- ciation to Snelgroves, Wozneys, Hodgins, Daigles for their cars in assisting transportation. Many folks of our village offer sympathy to the Wan- ninkhof family. We miss Jack, who made the weekly trips up and down the street. Watch for particulars as some of the ladies are work- ing feverishly over their quilts for the June show. Congratulations to Tim and Nancy Heayn upon the arrival of a new baby girl. Improved health to Mrs. Doug Heayn confined to Oshawa Hospital and Mr. Milt Heayn who is a heart patient in Uxbridge Hospital. Rev. and Mrs. Chas Clarke and family, the Daigles were guests at the wedding of their grandson Gregory Murray in Ottawa. Grandpa Clarke had the honour of assisting officiating at the marriage ceremony Satur- day, April 19th. Mr. and Mrs. Murray Luke and sons Robert and Paul of Stoney Creek visited Mrs. G. (Clara) Luke of Port Perry Villa. On this day the Lukes provided a special dinner and cake and ate with their mother and gramma, being Clara had preached 91 years of age. Congratulations! One recent Saturday eve- ning Mrs. Les Beacock was among the twenty who attended the kitchen shower in honour of a bride-to-be Miss Bernice Beatty, held at the home of Mrs. Lloyd Bea- cock, Port Perry. The same evening Les Beacock and three sons were among the twenty five at the home of Mr. Norm Watson. The Congratulations Party was for a prospective groom Mr. Gordon Beacock. Norm's general good hospitality was much appreciated assisted by the groom's brother Glenn. During those later hours both above named parties were served a most palatable buffet, thus -cli- maxed two pleasant events. Recent company with Mr. and Mrs. Ben Smith included Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Abbott of Athens, Ontario. Mrs. Smith's brothers Charles Webb of Haliburton, George of Ottawa, Mr. and Mrs. Don Leslie, Ken and Rob of Sea- grave, and their son Mr. and Mrs. Brian Leslie of Brook- lin. Glad to note Mr. and Mrs. G. Hunter are home from their Florida holiday. Mrs. N. Rensink was among the many at the shower for a future bride Miss Sharon Cox held at the Baptist Church, Port Perry. Being it a ladies night dainty refreshments were served. Then another night the entire Rensink family were at a party-shower for Miss S. Cox and Mr. Jan Rensink. This pre-nuptial occasion was planned by the Wonnacott relatives at their home in Oshawa. Mr. and Mrs. Doug Bid- good and three children enjoyed nearly two weeks sunning, etc at St. Peters- burg, Florida. Mesdames E. Davidson, K. Mosienko, I. Pugh, G. Beacock, accompanied H.
