2 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Wednesday, April 30, 1980 Day Care Centre may need zoning change Scugog Township council has asked for a legal opinion to determine if a private day care centre can be operated ina commercial zone in Port Perry. Mr. McCourt told council Monday afternoon that he is proposing to open a centre for up to 40 children at the house and shop now occupied by Davidson Fuels on High- way 7A in Port Perry. The property in question is in a C-3 zone, and because there are no specific references to day care centres in the zoning by-law, R.R.2, Oakwood Kindergarten Registration Victoria County Board of Education MARIPOSA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL THURSDAY, MAY 8th -9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. TUESDAY, MAY 13th-9:30a.m. to 2:30 p.m. THURSDAY, MAY 15th-9:30a.m.to 11:30 a.m. council asked that the matter be referred to the Township lawyer for an opinion. Mr. McCourt told council that there appears to be a considerable need for a privately operated day care centre in the Township, and said there were 21 replies to a recent ad which appeared in the local newspaper. Council appeared to have no specific objections to a day care centre operation so long as it complies with the zoning by-laws. 1-705-953-9740 Lots of Good Buys Left In We are making room for our new food lines.
