Actually, it is all just in good fun as students from Port Perry High School will present two performances of the play Dracula this Thursday and Friday evening at the High School with curtain at 8:00 P.M. Cam Muir plays Dracula and the neck he is looking at in this photo belongs to Sue Doupe, who plays Wesley. The play is directed by John Crocker. Louise Patterson Handicraft Guild by Jo Dowson The regular Guild meeting was held in St. John's Church Hall on Wednesday, May 14th. It was pleasant to welcome back several of our members who had spent the © winter in the south. Final plans were made for our annual show and sale on June 7th in the Masonic Hall. The President treated us to a humorous account of the recent trip to the 0.H.C.G. Annual Show in Hamilton where the Port Perry Branch put on a display of Rug Hooking. It was decided that our June meeting would be a Pot Luck Luncheon at 12:30 p.m. in St. John's Church Hall. Members are requested to bring their own place setting of dishes and cutlery along with their pot luck donation. After the business was concluded Beryl Espley gave a demonstration of Inkle Loom Weaving. That's right! The final set of exams is just.around the corner, starting June 6th, and then the summer holiday Queen St.W. - 985-7114 their final game against the Peterborough All-Star team. George Cope and Mike Patton are the two students who represented Port Perry High School on this team. - They both deserve a great deal of congratulations in their excellent efforts. Only six players of the Durham All-Stars showed up at the game to face eleven players of the Peterborough All- Stars and yet after a hard and fast game of ball, Durham was victorious with a score of 110-82! Both George and Mike played an excellent game and PPHS couldn't have had two finer representatives. Congratulations to Kevin Ausman who travelled to Toronto to compete against approximately 200 other Judo fighters and returned with 1st place in the Ontario High School Championships! He continued to compete in two Bowmanville tourna- ments receiving a 1st and 2nd of the South-Eastern Ontario Regional Champion- ships. Kevin competed against fighters up to the age of 20 to receive these. titles. Once more, Port Perry High School has been well repre- sented. Congratulations, Kevin! Just a reminder that the Athletic Banquet will be held ~ on May 28th. There will be a free dinner and dance for those athletes who own an athletic card, and that night some will receive various awards. It begins at 5:30 p.m. so we hope all athletes will attend. "Dracula" is coming to Port Perry High School on May 22nd and 23rd. The Drama department have been working all year for this production, so don't miss it! It will be held in the school auditorium this Thursday and Friday nights starting at 8:00 p.m. Admis- sion price is $3.00 per person or just $2.50 if you own an activity card. This comedy- horrow will be well worth seeing! Just two more weeks of news from P.P.H.S. and our year will be over so see you next week!
