By special invitation, foupders Diane Lackie, Jane Litt, Marilyn Wallace and Rev. Reg. Rose were acclaimed for their vision of successful theatre in Port Perry and their part in providing considerable dignity to an event which marked the beginning of a Borelians' commemorative tenth season. Original Borelians, including also Joan Godley and Paul Arculus, who were absent were offered honorary memberships in this popular group. Outgoing President Leslie Parkes briefly summarized important events of the last three years, both successes and disasters, and warmly thanked all 'those hard- nosed Borelians who had faith." He pointed out that the struggle to increase membership during that time has been responsible for a significant share of diligent workers. "It's the support of many within the organization that keeps it afloat. It's the point of view of many that keep it democratic," he stated. "I remain firm on that." Election proceedings quickly followed some brief reports from the old execu- tive. and accordingly, as there were no further nomin- ations submitted, the new slate of officers was intro- duced: President, Terry Hodgins; Vice-President, David Ellis; Treasurer, Irma Lewis; Secretary, Debbie McEachern; as well as 15 committee chair- persons. A lively acceptance speech revealed the appar- ent direction by the new President to make the Bore- lians "A fun organization", during which Mr. Hodgins displayed his keen sense of humour. Before adjourn- ment, he announced that the first meeting of the execu- tive, including all committee chairpersons, will take place at Town Hall 1873 at 8 o'clock June 24. Following the business portion, the Borelians enjoy- ed a relaxing hour, socializ- ing over coffee and incidentals while Beth Schrybert presented a colour slide show of the recent Borelians productions. A treat was to share a great cake, decorated with a new logo design for the club, commemorating the anni- versary of the group. The winning ticket for the lovely Borelians' Afghan was drawn by Rev.
