Port Perry Yachting news by Donna Pypers The 1980 boating season is in the midst of its' busiest period. So, be forewarned boaters, if you intend to dock at one of the locks on the Trent system for an over- night stay, get there early or "you may be "out of luck." Jim and Ruth Cline had a delayed start to their holiday this past week due to Jim's cold bug. They did, however, manage to visit Lindsay and spend one night at the Mid- way Marina on Pigeon Lake. This marina has excellent facilities. (including show- ers) and is a place you may want to note as an alternat- ive to staying at the lock at Bobcaygeon. Welcome aboard to Stan- ley and Margarett Yandt, the newest members of the Port Perry Yacht Club. Bill Booth Jr. and friend Larry Leeson are leaving for a four day trip to Rosedale on Friday aboard the Saeeda. Safe boating fellas. Donna and Peter Kreft and their sons were visiting Eric and Nora Hoole last week. Peter is a former member of the PPYC. A Leroy Hoyte had some very interesting visitors aboard his boat, the Liz Pat IT this week. Visiting Lee from Barbados were Harold Hoyte, the editor of the Barbadian '"'National" news- paper; Carolyn Leacock, one of Barbados' foremost vocal entertainers and Patricia and Arthur Austin. Mr. Austin is a noted Canadian author and Patricia, a pro- fessor from Champlain College in Quebec. Allin all, a most interesting group of people.
