Bill, who was born and raised in Edinburgh, Scot- land, came to Canada in 1953 and had not been in the U.K. since that time. The For- tunes visited friends in Wom- bourne, Nottingham, Lincoln, Edinburgh, and Thurso, covering over 2000 miles in their "leased mini." Bill was able to see many old friends including the principal of the first school he taught in at Biltsthorpe. The old gentleman is now 86 yéars of age and thoroughly enjoyed the visit, discussing staff and incidents of some 30 years ago: . While Mildred and Bill were in the United Kingdom the Pink Shoppe operated smoothly with Violet Lang- feld, Scarborough, and Julie Walker, Sault St. Marie in charge and they stayed with Mr. and Mrs. Donneral in Nestleton. Lynda McElwain Robert and Scott from Gelert also stayed with the Donner- als and Lynda assisted at the --Pink-Shoppe as well: i We are pleased to hear that Mrs. Donneral is feeling much better again after her relapse recently and was 4 able to visit with Rosemarie and Bill Abbott of Brampton. who were recent Sunday uests. . Wedding of Interest Nestleton United Church was the scene of a very pretty wedding on Saturday August 2 when Mr. and Mrs. Steven Johnson were united in marriage by Rev. Victor Parsons. The reception was held at the lovely summer home of the bride's grand- mother, Mrs, Frank Mollard Scugog Point. Congratula- tions and best wishes to this young couple from the area. Birthday Party Norm and Bernice Mairs, Nestleton, were guests at the Barbecue supper held at the home of daughter Diane and John Slute, R.R.1 Oshawa, a birthday celebration for two year old Jeremy Jay on Sunday August 3. Happy belated birthday to Jeremy Jay. Norm and Bernice Mairs attended two functions re- Shaklee Products during the past week. On Friday even- ing they were dinner guests at the Guild Inn and won the Award for No. 1 achievers for Assistant Supervisors. ~On~July 1§t they became Supervisors. Heartiest congratulations. Caesarea Euchre Results A successful Euchre was held Wesnesday evening last with 10 tables in progress. Winners were as follows: 1. Aileen Mahoney-97; 2. Mard- ie Handyside-96. Low score Doris Devlin-43. Special draw won by Carolyn Parish. Winner of most lone hands for the month of July with 17 was Marilyn Hewson. A ladies Auxiliary draw- a regular summer feature 1st prize, Swag lamp-Yvonne Prieb, 2nd prize Afghan-won by Joyce Dobson and 3rd prize, a hibachi-won by Fred Farrow. Tonight, Wed. Aug- ust 6th as usual at 8 p.m. Nestleton Presbyterian Church Regular service was held at 10 a.m. with a fair attend- ance. Rev. Fred Swann continued with the series re-""Acts of the Apostles'. Mrs. Shirley Scott played for the service and the choir rendered an Anthem which was much appreciated by the congregation. Next Sunt day at 10 a.m. everyone welcome. North Nestleton United On Sunday morning August 3rd at 11:15 a.m. Rev. Victor Parsons used as his theme "Unexpected Lois Places' based on Scriptures Genesis 28: 10-22 and Matt- hew II: 25-30. In the choir Miss Gail Malcolm favoured with a solo accompanied by her mother, Mrs. L. Malcolm. Mr. Ralph Sadler and Mr. Norm Mairs receiv- ed the offering. Jason and Bryan are spending two weeks with - Nestleton and area news Sam and Mabel at the farm. Recent guests with Mr. and Mrs, L.
