Lawrence Mal- Devils score big wins by Barry Page The Port Perry Printing Devils showed their '""magic" against three Whitby PeeWee teams. Dur- ing the first game on August 14 they exploded for eleven goals for an 11-1 win. Three forwards, Paul Bateman, Daryl Musselman and Gord Brown, each had three goals and Rob Page, centre half, scored one. Allard Flim scored his first goal while playing centre forward. The defence and goalie played a fine game even though they didn't have much work. It's hard to be into the game especially for the goalie when he only has a few shots to contend with. The second game against another team was on August 21 when they outscored them 7-2, The Devils started in a very lack lustre way and at half time we were lucky to be ahead 3-2. Mike Fluke, the goalie played a poor first half along with a few of the other players, Tony Kersten and Paul Bateman. The second half was a lot better as the team started to come on and played with author- ity. __The last game on August 28 J was the biggest challenge as the Devils were beaten by this team earlier in the season 7-1. They wanted to 'redeem their credibility so they had to play their best. They out played them most of the game and finished with a 5-2 victory. Goal scorers were Paul Bateman 1, Daryl Musselman 1, Gord Brown 1, Mark Butters 1, and Rob Page 1. Paul Walton, Tom Fowler Mark Butters and Rob Page controlled the midfield with great authority. The defen- sive crew of Jim Lamb, Tony Kersten and Bob Lamb were also a hard trio to beat. Eric van Netten and Mike Brunt- on who alternated on the defence throughout the game also played well. Mike Fluke came up big and played very well in goal. He not only controlled the front of his net but set up many players by his alert kicking. This clinches first place for the Devils and the play- offs will start some time next week. They won't officially be finished league play until October 4.
