The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emile Don- nelly, and the groom is the son of Mrs. Shirley Beer and the late Kenneth Beer. The marriage of Norma Louise Hodgins and James William Forsyth took place on June 14, 1980 at Trinity United Church in Uxbridge. Rev. Michael Locke was officiating clergyman. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hodg- ins of R.R.1 Ashburn. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Forsyth of Uxbridge. The bride, given in marr- iage by her parents, wore a high necked satin gown with lace bodice. Her headdress was a wide brimmed hat trimmed with white lace. She carried a flowing cas- cade of mauve and pale blue roses. The groom and ushers wore royal blue suits to compliment the brides _ attendants who wore floon- length pleated gowns of pale blue silk. Marilyn Redman of Scugog Island, sister of the bride, was maid of honour. The bridesmaids were Sharon Hodgins, sister of the bride, Laurie Nicholl, Karen Maclean and Susan Mount. Dale Ashton of Uxbridge acted as best man. Ushers were Ron and Ken Forsyth, brothers of the groom, Ron Hodgins, brother of the bride and Bob Howard. The couple honeymooned in British Columbia and now reside on Alva St. in Port Perry. --------~-Mrs--Hazel and Mrs. Thora Yelverton News by Harvey Malcolm Yelverton UCW held their September meeting on Thursday September 4 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Howard McMullen in Port Perry. Mrs. Eileen Malcolm provided a most interesting devotional. Twelve members were present. The ladies express- ed "their gratitude to Mr. Murray Malcolm for the fine job he did of building cup- boards in the Sunday School and to the President Agnes Howe who made new drapes for the SS room and who with a few helpers painted the walls. Agnes also volunteer- ed to decorate the Church for the Anniversary Sunday September 21 when Rev.' Jerry Hofstetter now of Guelph will be Guest Minis- ter. Business concerned the catering to the wedding in Blackstock on October; our annual Roast Beef Dinner Monday, October 13, starting at 3 pm. and a Region 5 Rally Luncheon on October 21st. The ladies were pleased to have as a guest one of Manvers Township artists - Mr. D'Arcy Proctor who spoke informally of his work and showed some of his interesting paintings. A lovely lunch concluded the afternoon, served by Mrs. Mabel McMullen and hostess Gray. Wedding Anniversaries have been the order of the day this weekend speciali- zing in particular with various branches of the McGill clan. Representation from the community was present at the 50th Wedding Anniversaries of Mr. and Mrs. Walter McGill of Sheas Trailer Park; the 50th Wed- ding Anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil McGill at Bethany and Yelverton's own Mr. and Mrs. Gerald McGill's 40th Anniversary here at Yelver- ton. Congratulations to all those involved in above marital observations. Of special interest to us at Malconia was the 25th Wed- ding Anniversary of Corrie's sister and hubby Roy and Teresa (Truus) Werry of Sudbury. Quite a collection of friends and relatives motor- ed to Sudbury for the happy occasion. From Enniskillen were Mr. and Mrs. Ted Werry and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Sharp and their daughter. Ivan was Roy's best man 25 years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Clare Perigoe of Caesarea, Miss Heather Perigoe of Whitby, Corrie and Harvey Malcolm and Mona from Malconia and Mrs. Mitze Fick of Picker- ing. Quite an enjoyable evening was held in the Sampa Hall in Sudbury, when above group added their number to the Werry friends and relatives in that town, when a bountious buffet dinner was served following by an evening of dancing. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Malcolm and Candy hosted a dinner of BBQ pork chops and accessories followed by a social evening, a farewell party, in honour of Mr. Peter Bakker and Mr. Theo Haver who were returning on Friday evening to Holland. Some thirty guests were present during the evening to enjoy the genial hospitality of the Malcolm families. A most pleasant evening was spent by those present and Peter and Theo will long remember the Canadian hospitality tendered them during their visit here and friendships made. Rev. Art Rodgers held the first church service of the fall season on Sunday, September 7 with the Sunday School also getting back into gear for the fall and winter season. The bride is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Maschke of Seagrave, "The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stan Watson of Port Perry. Cathy Keetch of Port § The Manchester United Church was the setting for the May 31st wedding of Margaret Grace Helen Hofstee, daughter of Mr. and ----Mrs.:John Hofstee, of R.R.4 Port Perry and Calvin Ivan Cochrane, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Cochrane of R.R.3 Port Perry. Music at the church was played by Tracy Blayone on piano and John Foster, who played back up guitar, while Cal Cochrane, the groom, played guitar and sang, "Here, There and Everywhere." Given in marriage by her father the bride wore a full length white lace wedding gown and carried a bouquet of red and white carnations, roses and stephanotis. Bridesmaids were Janet" Hofstee, Karen Carr, Heath- er Hodgins and Maid of Maschke-Watson Perry was maid of honour. Bridesmaids were Mary Lou Maschke, sister of the bride and Debbie Keetch. Daryl Drenbevalter of Vancouver B.C. acted as best man. Ushers were Rick Venette and Colin Wackett. -----The-reception-was-held-at---- the Port Perry Scout Hall. The newlyweds will reside in Oshawa. Cochrane - Hofstee Honour was Hilda Hofstee. Flower girl was Lana Wood. The bride's attendants wore full length blue gowns with matching capes and carried bouquets of yellow, pink and white daisies. The Best Man was Laurie Williams of Port Perry. Ushers were Phil Cochrane, brother of the groom, John Foster and Pete Obryant, both friends of the groom. The double ring ceremony took place at 3:00 p.m. at the Manchester United Church with Rev. Linstead officiati- ng. Guests proceeded to the Latcham Centre, followed by dinner and dancing.
