The Port Perry branch had a very successful season last year and although things are not as rosy this year, they were making a good profit. He said that he thought this branch would have been left open for a few more years, but because the new owners could forecast no future growth for the area, the decision was made to close the operation. Master Feeds will continue serving its customers through dealers or on a direct basis. When the plant closes on September 30th, the property and buildings will come up for sale on the open market. Being situated in a C3 (general commercial) area, on a major intersection in Port Perry, could make the property very valuable. The parcel of land on which the building sits is pie-shaped and close to a quarter of an acre in size, with the building occupying most of the land. Just what will happen to the building in the near future is a mystery at this time.
