Two import defensemen in camp this year, Steve Nick- erson and Mike Albrecht have also been impressive. Out on the forward lines, rugged hard-working Dave Alexander is back again after a good rookie year, as is Clarke Menzies who had some fine games with the team last season. Carl Durward, who played juvenile hockey in Port Perry last year, has had a strong training camp, according to team officials. Veteran Darrin Jobb is also back with the club. He can put the puck in the net, and plays a tough aggressive brand of hockey from his spot on left wing. Big Rob Garrow, another import, had a good season with the MoJacks last year, scoring more than 20 goals, and using his size and strength to good advantage in front of the opposition net. Team officials have been impressed with the training camp of Al Lewcho, an import who has good size and puck-handling ability. And Todd Wilbur, a stand- out with last year's Midget squad in Port Perry who saw action in several games with forming well sessions so far. After starting with 50 play- ers at the initial training camp, the roster has been pared down to 30 skaters, and 19 will suit up for the game tonight against Bow- manville. The MoJacks have two more exhibition games coming up this week with the Uxbridge Bruins. The MoJacks visit Uxbridge this Friday evening and the Bruins will be at the Scugog Arena this Sunday evening for a 7:30 face-off. The three exhibition matches will give coach in practise Potts and his staff a chance to take a good look at all the players before making final cuts in preparation for the league opener October 5 at the Scugog Arena with the Lindsay Muskies in town. There will be a couple of new wrinkles in the Junior C loop this year, with Beaver- ton Ice Hawks out of action, and two new teams from Lakefield and Bewdley. Because of the two new teams, MoJacks will play a 36 game schedule this season 18 at home. Summerlea ladies finish season Sept. 27 by Linda Parry The ladies of Summerlea Golf Course were trying their best on Tuesday, September 16 to get as many team points as possible. Lucy Wilson shot a low gross score of 37 and Pat Houghton came in with low net of 19. Gerda Ostertag birdied hole number 9 for her first birdie of the season. On Saturday, Sept. 27 the ladies will have their final tournament at 1 p.m. and wait until you see what there is in store for you. es with "End of season ~~ the-MoJacks, has been per- for Girls' Softhall The Squirt Girls Softball finished up it's season on Saturday, September 20th. The deciding game came out as Larry's Garage - the champs. A lot of teamsport and sportsmanship has been shown through the summer as team members helped out the other teams, Gord Lewis Motors and Kinsmen Club. The coaches Bunny Row- land, Marg Prentice and Doug Loudfoot with his assistant Brian Maciver came out every week and made the game fun for the girls.
