Gerald (Jerry) Hofstetter now of Guelph provide the Anniversary message assist- ed by our own minister Rev. Arthur Rodgers. Jerrry, a former popular minister in the Janetville charge brought along his good wife, Carolyn and their two sons and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Hofstetter of Plattsville. John is currently a very busy man as he is Provincial chairman and director of the Oxford County Plowmans Assoc. who are hosting this year's plowing match near Wood- stock next week. It was indeed a pleasure to-meet and great the Hofstetter families at the social hour following the anniversary service, Rev. Arthur Rodgers and daughter Laur- ie provided special music for the occasion. Special grati- tude to Mr. and Mrs. Allan Howe our genial U.C.W. President and her hubby who have spent long hours this week and previously in lay- ing carpet in church -base- ment and in decorating our church with such an abund- ance of colourful and an attractive display of produce from garden and field. ' Miss Rosie Fallis of Cad- mus, bride elect, was honoured on Tuesday night with a miscellaneous shower in the church basement. Rosie received a varied assortment of useful gifts. Neglected to mention that Mr. and Mrs. Clare Robinson had their youngest offspring little Julia Rae Robinson christened by her uncle, attendance figures were not . Jerry at the Sunday a.m. service with Jerry and Carol PY p being the Godparents. ~ Among the rhany guests' present at Sunday's service were Mrs. Etta Robinson of Cavan and Miss Janet Bowls of Lakefield visiting with the Robinson family. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hurtig PY welcomed Joe's brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Hurtig and friends who are here from Europe visiting friends and relatives. Joe will be renewing friendships - with his brother who he last 3 saw some five years ago. League. Yelverton faced the Millbrook Sr. girls in the finals on a four out of 7 series. The Yelverton team took the first two games in' 9 pd : a Millbrook, lost the first game 3 7 in Yelverton, then took the EN 3rd gamein Yelverton. Back of to Millbrook on Thursday Sn night losing a squeaker to the Millbrook squad in a tight 2-1 game and played a second game the same night under p the lights in Pontypool winn- ing more decisively with a 11-4 similar score. Had Millbrook had as an effective pitching duo as Yelverton with Mary and Gloria McCullough, the results could well have been differ- ent.
