Flying Camels ready to meet Port Old-timers The Port Perry Old-timers hockey club has scheduled an exhibition match at the Scugog Arena on November 29 against ne Flying It should J a oot enter- taining game from a specta- _ tor's point of view because the Old-Timers have some excellent hockey players in their line-up. However, they will have their hands full with the Flying Camels, a team made up of professional figure skaters, some of whom have been Olympic competitors and Canadian gold meda- lists. The Flying Camels have beaten the Toronto Italian hockey team, one of the best old-timers clubs in Canada. So, the Port Perry squad had better have their skates sharpened when the Flying Camels come to town. Also, the same night at the Scugog arena, 1979 Canadian Senior Ladies figure skating champion Heather Kem- karen will put on an exhibi- tion between the second and third periods of the hockey game. The exhibition hockey game has been arranged to _help raise money for the Port Perry Old-Timers to compete in the Can-Am tournament in Lake Placid, Family h Tres 5 YEAR Annual Interest 12 7/8% Semi-Annually 3/4 STANDARD 31/ Annual Interest 13%% Semi-Annually the munidpal Savings & 10aN Mnporaton 5 YEAR 3s Annual Interest 13% Seml-Annually V VICTORIA AND GREY TRUST Since 1844 3s 5 Year Annual Interest 13% Semi-Annually macdonald-cartier trust company + 5 YEAR 31/2 Annual Interest 13%% Semi-Annually New York in April of next year. One of the members of the Flying Camels is Port Perry's Rick Stevens. The following: players are members of the Old-Timers, and hockey fans in this area will recognize more than one familiar name on the roster. It should be a good game. Face off is at 7:00 p.m, November 29. Team members: Jim Burnett, Garry Geer, Bob Slack, Ed Teno, Gary Edgar, Grant Menzies, Ralph Fair- man, John Vernon, Don Card, Mike Mitchell, Bruce Cochrane, Don Lally, Jack Lally, Frank Tobin, Gary MacDonald, and Bob Parry. Oshawa trips Belles by Marg White On Saturday November 8, 1980 Oshawa paid the Port Perry Chris Allen Aluminum Belles a visit. Oshawa was really on their game and were out skating and out checking Port Perry. The score was 9-3 for Oshawa but could have been consider- able more if it hadn't been for Wendy Burton in nets. Scoring for Port Perry was Michelle Andrews, Sharon Ashmore, and Bonnie Bridge each * with- one--goal - and Cheryl Doherty and Rhonda White with a single assist.
