After her inter- esting remarks she officially declared the Bazaar open, Entertainment for the evening was provided by a choir of 30 children from Cartwright Central Public School under the capable direction of Mrs. Cathy Corden. They sang a select- ion of Christmas songs which were most enjoyable. The tables held an assort- ment of articles all hand made by members of the Court as well as a bake section, touch and take, and a variety of books. The penny sale is always well received, but the winners are too numerous to mention. There were approximately 50-winners in all. The winners of the draws held throughout the evening were as follows: Fruit Cake Marg Lee; Hamper of groc- eries Bonnie Kellow; Door prize Karen Kyte; Pitcher and 'Bowl donated by Mrs. Prosser, Mindy Kellow; Ceramic Christmas Tree B. Victor Parson's subject for his message was entitled, "Expecting Someone?' based on scripture Isaiah 9: 2-7 and II Peter 1: 3-21. The choir sang an appropriate number "I Love Him." Flowers were placed in the Sanctuary in memory of the late Mr. Kenneth Samells. Nestleton Presbyterian Church November 30, 11 a.m. Advent 1 Sunday, a very good attendance for the service, Rev. Fred Swan read a portion of Chapter I of Luke, the story of Jesus' birth. At this Christmas season let us prepare our hearts for His coming. Family News Mr. and Mrs. George Bowers and daughter Mrs. Arnold Williams, Nestleton, recently visited Mr. Wilfred Wilson of Omemee. Later they enjoyed supper at a restaurant. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Glenney of Lindsay, Mr. and Mrs. George Bowers were recent supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Doc Adams of Bowmanville. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Shef- field of Oshawa, were Satur- day afternoon callers with Miss Ruth Proutt, Nestleton. Mr, Ross Smalley and family of Sandford, were Sunday dinner guests with Mr. and Mrs. L. Malcolm and Gail. Master Kingsley Malcolm celebrated his 3rd birthday on Sunday evening with a "family party. Mr. Stanley Malcolm, Port Perry, arrived safely in Florida on Tuesday via Air Canada. Best wishes for a happy holiday in the sunny south. Norman and Bernice Mairs of Nestleton attended a family party on Saturday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ken Maynard of Bowmanville. Other family members present included Mr. and Mrs. George Sellers "of Collingwood and Mrs. Joyce Virtue and daughter Donna of Bowmanville. Guests at the Cawker farm over the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Cawker of Sudbury, Friday to Sunday. Arthur and Carroll along with Alan and Eleanor Cawker of Oshawa attended the Basketball tournament held all day Saturday at Trent University . Sports Complex in Peterborough, in which son Bryan was a play- er for the Sudbury team. The team lost the first game Friday evening but won the Consolation Award eliminat- ing three teams on Saturday and went 'home with the consolation trophy well satis- fied with their efforts. Sympathy Nestleton and Caesarea friends extend deepest sym- pathy to Mrs. Florrie Samells, son Melville, daughter Anna and their families in -the loss of a beloved husband, father and grandfather who passed away this week. Mr. Kenn- eth Samells, well known throughout Cartwright and will be missed by a host of friends. : Sympathy is also extended from this area to Mrs, Della Marlow, Caesarea and the family in the loss of her husband, Mr. Alvin Marlow during the week. Alvin was also well known, having been raised in Cartwright and will be greatly missed by many friends. Sincere Get Well Wishes At time of writing the news, sorry to say there is no improvement in the condition of Mr. Roy Cornish who has been a patient in Sunnybrook Medical Centre since November 21, after his serious accident in Port Perry.
